MAC Vera Collection

I wasn't really interested in the majority of the collectie ie. the pigments or beauty powders as I'm addicted to TKB Trading pigments and micas and the beauty powders were quite pale and silvery when I swatched them instore. However the pencils with this collection I found to be absolutely gorgeous and could not resist, I have since found out that these have now been added to the permanent collection.

As you can see from the photos they are true to colour and wonderfully creamy.

Did you pick up anything from this collection? If so what were your thoughts?

MAC ChenMan Collection

The MAC Chenman Collection launched this month in the UK, here are the pieces I picked up. I had been waiting with baited breath to see this collection in the flesh after watching Temptalias' review/unveiling of what the collection contained and her impressions of it. It was my intention to check out Force of Love lipstick and see if it was wearable on my skintone and have a look at the pigmentation of Love Cycle as Christine was not exactly enthusiastic about them, so that I could make a good informed decision. Anyhow I ended up leaving with Love Cycle and Force of Love Lipglass (I asked for the lipstick but as the lipstick and lipglass have the same name- in other words check before you leave the shop because by the time I got back it was sold out booo). Laura Mercier Eye and Cheek Palette 2011, rare taupe in tearduct, lavender silk inner portion of lid and regal violet in outer v.

I've been struggling with this pallette since I got it and have decided that I must conquer it 

Bargain Makeup Haul

OMG I found WetnWild in the UK not only that, but I got it for a £1. Yes thats right a beautiful shiny pound. So let me explain I went to Brixton just under 2wks ago for some Relaxer, as you do, but also to hunt down one of the Sleek Blush by 3 palettes but anyhow the last time I was there my mother dragged me into the £store or £Stretcher, I'm not that sure to be honest with you. So I figured I would check it out just in case there was something good in there, preferably I wanted some WetnWild 8 shadow palettes or Colour Sensationel Lipstick.
But anyhow as you walk in on the right hand side I spotted that they had a few bits and bobs nothing major but I picked up these two bad boys.

The WetnWild shadows were not as pigmented as I had hoped but very beautiful and soft all the same. The Revlon Matte Green is true to colour, but somewhat powdery so fallout maybe an issue. A beautiful deep green all the same so definitely worth the purchase.

Have any of you guys picked up a bargain recently?

Forgive me....

......father for I have sinned, it has been 2 months since my last confession. I decided to take a little bit of a breather from posting as I had most definitely lost my way. Blogging had become slighly overwhelming for me, not because I no longer enjoyed it but because I felt slightly pigeonholed . This was no ones doing but my own of course but nevertheless it stopped me in my tracks, as I found myself contemplating starting several blogs for all the various aspects to my personality.

You are probably unaware that I am actually a Lingerie Designer www.dollysugar.com and also a photographer at www.dollyloves.com. As I finished my design degree last year I felt the need to document the different stages that I was going through but felt somewhat uncomfortable with putting it on my blog. As it had initially started off as a beauty blog. 

After attending TOWIB yesterday I have made the decision that, I'm gonna do what I want and when I want. This basically means that dollylovesyou is going to be expanding, with posts on my inspirations, everyday life and most definitely continuing on a large part with my beauty obsession. So I hope that you will be here to continue with me on this journey.

For you this means you will have more regular posts from me so I hope you enjoy this change.

Pin Curls Attempt 1, FOTD, OOTD

So if you subscribe to my you tube channel you will have seen my mini whinge a few months back about my hair and the issues that I had been having with it.
In a nutshell I went bald on both sides of my head and had a few bald patches dotted across my head. My problem at that time was that I was suffering quite alot of breakage even though my hair was growing back.
But that's another story that I will go into greater depth in a video perhaps, haven't quite decided as yet.
Anyhow I wanted to show my results when I did "pin curls" - still not sure if I did it right though, but I did like the results I got.

Using GHDs I curled individual sections 

and pinned whilst still hot 

I did this in fairly large sections as I wanted a loose curl

Close up 

I combed it thru with a paddle brush, for a uniformed curl.
